What to Expect:
On arrival you pay a lesson fee and receive a sticker as receipt of payment. Grab a drink at the bar, find a seat and get chatting to the other Salsa-Holics. You will know when we are about to start as one of the appointed instructors will be calling you to join in. The instructors will teach the 1st half of a routine and then all dance to a song, with a break for 5 minutes. After the break the 2nd half of the routine is taught and danced/practised to another song. To end – we have a warm down song (old and new students are expected to join in). We then encourage students to stay after the class, practice and enjoy the Salsa Rhythms.
What to Wear:
To start off with it is not necessary to go out and buy dance shoes, but just to let you know - rubber soles e.g. takkies are not advised as you tend to stick to the floor. Office work shoes for men go down well and for the ladies a bit of a heel helps you into your turns. Ladies - please Do Not wear loose sandals or flip flops. Dress is Smart/Casual.
When to move up: You need to complete at least 3 beginner lessons with practice after classes and you may then move up to the Improver Class. In the Improver class you need to be completley comfortable with the 5 basic Salsa steps and turns. Here it is always advised to ask your instructor if they think you are ready to move up another level.
